A log cabin settler recalls autumn 1859 in Logan Canyon DeWitt Springs while hauling pine logs. He encounters a failed syrup pour, fishes a drowned mouse from the cork, fears mice under the bunk, scares away varmints with a birch rod, sleeps, then feels restrained near the river where a very large rattlesnake is heard nearby.
The District Court of Idaho Bear Lake County is notified Delbert Hess sues Zelphy Hess to dissolve the bonds of matrimony. Zelphy Hess must answer within twenty days if served in the district or forty days if served elsewhere, or default will be taken. Judge J. S. Peterson issues the summons dated December 21, 1923.

A four stockholder delegation returned from Panama saying the Bayano River Trust is a sham and no oil exists. Authorities say victims total millions and Koretz vanished December 6.
