Liberty Matron 15 Called To Her Reward

Mrs. Susanna Clark King, aged pioneer, died at her Liberty home on November 20. Born December 17, 1840 in Cambridge shire England, she crossed the plains to Utah and Idaho with her husband David M. King. She leaves eleven children, two sons and two daughters preceded her in death. survivors include Mrs James F. Bunn, Mrs William G. Smith, Mrs Fred Wood, Olive K. Rich, Orr of Alberta, Canada, Franklin King, David Q. King, and Thomas Go. King of Montpelier.

Lone Coyote Kills 36 Fine Turkeys at Swan Valley

D D Jacobs of the Swan valley section loses a sizable flock after a coyote raided his range. Thirty five of his fine turkeys were killed including a prized Tom turkey. Several buyers seek high quality birds for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The flock wandered through a hole in the fence, drawing the coyote’s raid.

Hitchhiker Uses Can to Entice Driver at Gas Station

San Clemente mayor Thomas Murphine picked up a man carrying a five gallon gasoline can who claims to be hitchhiking with the can as a disguise. The man says he has traveled 14 000 miles in the can and uses the ruse to get rides. Ranger W.8 Averill has spent several days at Garden City this week.

Montpelier Geneva highway gains state designation

The Montpelier chamber of commerce won state highway status for the Geneva to Montpelier route and plans to rework it to an all year road. The Crow Creek leg may be abandoned with mail rerouted via the south road from Afton. The group aims to keep Geneva to Montpelier open year round for Star Valley access.
