David Low longtime Utah educator dies after illness
David Low 63 former superintendent of several Utah schools died Friday in a Salt Lake hospital after a lingering illness. Born March 24, 1887 in Paris Idaho he earned a BS degree from Logan and served as superintendent in Paris Soda Montpelier and other districts. Surviving are his widow three sons a stepson and a sister. Services were held in Salt Lake City and Montpelier with burial in Paris cemetery.

FHS Students Attend Music Clinic In Pocatello
Fielding High School music students joined Band director Dr John Holliday at a two day clinic in Pocatello on December 1 and 2. They performed in a concert Saturday night at the Pocatello High School auditorium with vocal groups led by Wesley Harris and a girls chorus directed by others.

Fielding PTA Cancelled For December
Fielding PTA cancels the regular December meeting due to many Christmas activities. The Fireside chat group met Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs John Spencer. Mrs Madge Hoge gave the lesson The Trial and Crucifixion of the Savior. Mrs Martha Lewis entertained. Members present included Mesdames Orbie Poulsen Grace Smedley Leora Taylor Edna Bolton Ida Ringel Verona Stevens Annie Price. William Jensen and Mr and Mrs Blake Jensen and daughter visited Blackfoot and the Patterson family. Mrs Jensen is staying with the family while recovering from an operation.

LeRoy Hirschi and Zendell Hale Honored by Scouting
LeRoy Hirschi of St. Charles and Zendell M. Hale of Pocatello received the Silver Beaver awards at the Tenday Council Boy Scouts of America annual appreciation dinner in Pocatello. Dr Ray J Davis presented the honors citing their outstanding service to boyhood on the council level. Hirschi has served as Scoutmaster of Troop 67 and as a long time Scouter, credited with keeping Scouting active in a lightly supported community.

Fish Haven Primary Raises Funds for Children Hospital
Fish Haven primary officers and teachers raised funds for the Children’s Hospital by sewing a quilt and selling chances with penny candy. The quilt toured Montpelier for four days. donations came from local businesspeople and residents, totaling more than the $100 goal after expenses.
