On November 24 every soldier in the American Expeditionary Force received materal and was asked to write a Christmas letter to Father. May 12 was Mother’s Day with 1,450,000 letters mailed to mothers here. The forces are large and mail handling was organized. The ship with these letters and Xmas boxes from home was sent. The Red Cross YMCA KO D and Salvation Army aided the boys and provided a special entertainment that evening.
Joseph H. Denio, a respected Paris resident, died early Wednesday after a bout with influenza. His wife Mrs. Denio and his brother-in-law George Gibbie travel to attend burial at St. Charles. Miss Agnes Athay and Miss Libbie Rich hosted a gathering Monday evening celebrating Libbie’s upcoming move to Blackfoot.

Frank Minsou returns to visit his parents Mr Munson and sister Mire. Kate Andérsen accompanies the remains of their brother and wife Mr and Mrs Jessé Munson from Garfield. Mrs Anderger stays briefly. Red Cross completed sending Christmas boxes to the boys overseas with buses mailed from Paris. boxes came from local towns to the Bear Lake stake.
