Climbers Stranded by Grand Teton Snowstorm on Narrow Ledge
Dr Robert Underhill of Harvard and Phil Smith of Burlington with a Grand Teton National Park ranger were marooned for hours on a rocky eight inch ledge while attempting a first ascent of the south face of Grand Teton. High winds hail and snow trapped them at about 10 000 feet before they retreated to Amphitheatre Lake base camp.
