Primary voting in Bear Lake county across twenty precincts yielded low interest with eleven precincts reporting. Major races included commissioners, assessor, and probate judge with several party-line dominations and vacancies on both tickets reflected in the tallies.
Bloomington Cyringa Band will furnish music at a free concert Sunday at 5 p.m. The event takes place at Tabernacle Park in Paris.
Paris ladies hosted a dinner Friday evening at the Mountainview home of Judge and Mrs. W. Smith Hoge on their dry farm four miles up Sleight Canyon west of Paris. Guests included several couples such as Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Pendrey and Judge Hoge. A campfire followed, with hours of social chat in front of the pine log cabin set in a quaking-asp grove.
Reported figures show Democrat Shir ley 130 and Jos Bagley 36 for one commissioner seat in district one. In district three Republican candidates Bee 83 Kunz 96 Hymns 189. Sheriff Asa Athay Democrat 147 and H H Dalrymple 43. Probate Judge Chris Tueller 245 and Raymond Budge 121. Assessor Cole 239 and Ernest Gubler 129.
David Poulsen, a farmer south of Liberty, raises a valued flock of turkeys worth $800. He cites good feed and climate as key factors and plans to double the flock next year.
Jos Jones of Salt Lake a former secret service member for the Oregon and Utah Railroad Company has accepted a company pension and retired from active service. He is a well known Bear Valley resident who once served as county sheriff several years ago.
A baby girl arrived last week to Mr and Mrs Cliff Jewel of Ogden Utah The mother is formerly Miss Genevieve Bird of this city and the birth adds a daughter to the couple's family.
Word reached here that Miss Anna Innes daughter of Mr and Mrs James Innes long based in Provo Utah married Howard Ray a Provo real estate dealer. The couple are honeymooning in the southern states and New Mexico.
The Bear River area faced a severe dry spell as crops suffered. Utah Power and Light operates large pumps at Lifton, transferring about a thousand second feet of Bear Lake water into the river to aid irrigation and relieve the parched fields.
Ora Budge daughter of Justice Alfred Budge and Mrs Budge is convalescing at St. Aloysius hospital in Boise after an appendectomy. A University of Malta 1926 graduate she joined Phi Beta Kappa and Gamma Phi Beta and has since worked in the Secretary of State's office.

Boise, July 28. An executive order setting sage hen shooting dates will cut the season to 15 days per county. Twin Falls remains closed all season. Cassia County gets a 15 day open period. Open dates run August 1–15 in some counties and August 15–31 in others with September 1–15 for Bannock and several other counties.
A tale tells of a mat who crawls into a hollow log seeking shelter from a thunderstorm. The log swells as rain pours, trapping the creature inside. In a twist of conscience he recalls an unpaid newspaper subscription and feels shamed enough to escape.

Frank Duesenberry and George Mc Laughlin field engineers for Utah Power and Light Co. arrived in Paris Wednesday and will recruit a force of men to dredge the lake channel at Camp Lifton.
Early returns from Ada County indicate Republican nominations in Idaho under a hybrid primary. B A Crooks appears set for state senator, with Brink and Hartson likely renominated for district judges. Leading state rep hopefuls include Oppenheim Weeks Whitehead, while McBirney McClurg and McMillan split the rest. Burk named prosecuting attorney.
Mr and Mrs Jos Behling and M J Stringham plus nephew Gale Smith from Salt Lake City are guests this week of County Auditor and Mrs J S Peters and Mrs Bahling’s parents Bishop and Mrs Josn T Peterson of Ovid.
The Matson-Tipton entertainment at the local opera house drew a small crowd but pleased with a high quality program. The professionals displayed unusual ability, elaborate costumes, and tasteful makeup, though public patronage was lacking.
Mr and Mrs David Roberts formerly of Logan now of Ogden travel to the Lakota resort on Hoare to attend a family reunion for Hugh Roberts a former Smithfield resident who moved to Bear Lake where he died. The two day program runs Friday and Saturday with an expected two hundred attendees. Last year’s gathering was in Smithfield with Bishop Richard Roskely aiding efforts.
Fielding High announces the 1926-1927 term opens September 20 under Principal Morris D. Low. The faculty includes Daniel C. Rich, Stella P. Rich, Othelia P. Weight, Torrey L. Austin, Irwin Jensen, Billwood Gledhill and others in science, history, English, Home Economics, mathematics, music, commerce and physical education.
Aug 4 Pocatello reports the lightest primary turnout in Ban nock County history with incomplete returns. Walter Newcomb leads for state senator on the Republican ticket, Tyler heads the Democrat line, and Geo Wagehseller tops the Progressive ticket as contenders for November. Early results show close races for Republican state representatives with Gray Kingsford and a Cannon vying, while third party nominations have no contest.
Fexas residents Mr and Mrs Edwin Johnston of Eastland Texas are visiting Paris this week at the home of Howard Johnston. Edwin a former Paris boy is now a field foreman for the Texas Belt Oil Co.
The Idaho Supreme Court ruled that twenty-five percent of automobile license fees collected in 1925 before March 10 must go to the state. The case arose from a mandamus writ in Ada County District Court by State Auditor B. G. Gallett against Kootenai County Treasurer J H P F Cleland.

Twenty one Chinese pheasants were received from Bliss State Game Farm and released in seven locations around Bear Lake County. A. H. Thiel, president of Bear Lake Sportsmen's, supervised the release. Visitors Leslig Shepherd and sons are visiting Magna and Salt Lake City.
