Funeral Services Held for Wm G Hayward Pioneer

Funeral services for Wm G Hayward a Bear Lake valley pioneer who died in Logan Utah on April 21 were conducted Monday at the Paris first ward chapel. Speakers included Bishop Dan Rich and Pres Wm L Rich with several other church leaders offering tributes. Born October 1 1854 in Salt Lake City Hayward was part of early Utah pioneer families arriving from England in 1849 and later moved to Bear Lake valley.

U.S. hunting licenses climb to over five million

The 1925-26 season saw more than 5.16 million hunting licenses issued nationwide with state treasuries receiving about 6.87 million dollars. Pennsylvania led in licenses and revenue, totaling 525,045 licenses and 646,447.25 dollars. Idaho issued 366,169 licenses, reflecting a broad rise in licensing and fees over prior years.

Mutual Glen Girls Summer Home Opens to Boys This Year

The Lakota facility known as Mutual Glen used by girls from ten stakes including Ida ho Wyoming and Utah will host boys for the first time. A large group of Primary Boys from Grace Bannock Stake will visit in late May as Primary workers train leaders to supervise excursions. Yellowstone Stake secures the home for ten days in August with Kemmerer Wyoming girls staying a week in July.

Randolph native Lenora Webster Howard wife of William Howard died Sunday in a Salt Lake hospital. Born January 28, 1876 in Randolph Utah she was daughter of William and Lenora Perkins Howard and sister of John C Howard. Survived by husband and many children including Gladys Abrams on Ruth Johnson Chandos Howard Maybelle Gould Andra WitsonPhyillis Harvey John Maxine Howard W Allen Howard. Funeral held Wednesday at 1 pm in Wells ward chapel.

Alabama Minstrels Thrill Local Opera House Crowd

A capacity audience enjoyed the Alabama Minstrels under Prof. Irwin Jensen at the local opera house. The show featured 35 voices in three parts with a campfire sequence, end men Chase Kears and Rich Bones, Ruby Bolton as pianist, Hugh Shepherd on the soprano horn, Kenneth Longhurst on banjo, and various solos and dialogue receiving strong praise.

Shepherd Wins City Mayor Election In Biannual City Vote

Alfred W. Shepherd was elected mayor on the Citizens Ticket defeating Joseph Stucki. Voters turnout: 201 of 284 registered. Tax levy failed by 62 votes. In council races H L Spencer won in the second ward and O H Grimmett won in the first ward.
