Board seeks plant facilities levy continuation
At a April meeting the Board of Trustees approved advertising for a May 20 plant facilities election. A lay committee will inform the public. questions are invited. The board argues preventative maintenance saves money and that the levy is a continuation, not new taxes, boosting total mills from 4 to 5 with a small above average increase. If the election fails no funds arrive until 1971, contingent on passage.

Accident on 8th Street and US 30N injures none
Sheriff’s deputies investigated a Wednesday morning crash near Montpelier at 8th Street and US 30N. Jay Nielsen of Montpelier attempted to pass Brent Booth of Dingle as Booth turned left, sliding broadside and totaling Nielsen’s car while causing about $300 damage to Booth’s vehicle. Nielsen received a citation for failure to observe the basic rule. No injuries were reported.

Bedr Lake Basin Community Concert Association reports memberships nearly complete with hope for extra signups this week. If enough response, a fourth concert may be added next season. Three tentative shows listed New York Lyric Quartet Arizona Boys Choir and a piano duo. Final programs Swanee Singers April 26 and Utah String Quartet May 12. Membership costs seven dollars fifty cents for adults three dollars fifty cents for students two students may share one adult. Passey Completes Air University Squadron Officer School
Captain Glenn T. Passey, son of Mrs. Dda Passey of Montpelier, completes the 14 week Squadron Officer School at Maxwell AFB. He is reassigned to Reese AFB Texas as a helicopter pilot after earning a BS from Utah State University in 1962. His wife Joan is daughter of Calvin Hymas of Ovid.
Ether S. Young Rites Held in St. Charles
Funeral services for Ether S. Young 86 were led by Bishop James Pugmire in the St. Charles LDS Ward Chapel. He died at the Veteran's Rest Home in Salt Lake City after a long illness. Born October 30, 1882 in St. Charles, he served in World War I with the Spruce Division in Vancouver, Washington. Survivors include two daughters Rae Floyd and Barbara Niedt, two sisters and a brother, four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Interment followed at St. Charles Cemetery with American Legion Post No. 8 conducting military rites.
