State Chamber Highway Plans for Idaho

Utah Plans Big Road Idea

Salt Lake City April 7 Utah officials project over 6.3 million dollars for highway construction in the next three years aided by federal funds. Henry A Blood, chairman of the state highway commission, cited the Dowell federal aid bill and the Colton Oddie forest highway bill as sources of roughly 1.085 million and additional funds. With a 74 percent federal match the state expects about 5 million in federal aid over the period.

Young Pendrey Thwarts Hold-Up on Idaho Street

Joseph Pendrey of Idaho Falls and his son Beecher encountered an attempted robbery while Beecher walked home from a service station near Park Avenue and G Street. Pendrey shouted for help, the attacker fled after a glancing blow, and police chased a description of a 5 foot 6 inch to 5 foot 7 inch man in a light cap and dark suit.

Car Crash En Route to Centennial Hit on St Charles Turn

Charles Porter and family of Ovid were en route to Salt Lake for the Centennial when their car failed to slow at the first turn entering St Charles from the north. Angus Porter, driving, couldn't stop and the car left the road into a ditch, overturning and injuring Mrs Porter who suffered head cuts. The vehicle was badly wrecked.
