Benson Urges Adequate Grain Storage Facilities
Secretary of Agriculture Benson warned of serious storage problems this year and urged farmers to plan immediately for adequate grain storage. With normal spring and summer weather the issue could be worse in 1954. wheat carryover is expected higher than last year. Loans through farm storage facilities offer higher value per bushel, and CCC storage loans cover up to 80 percent of cost at 4 percent interest through June 30, 1954. Farmers should contact local ASC offices for details and to plan needed storage space.
