Paoli man dies at 56 after long rail career
Edward Albert Maxedon of Paoli Indiana died September 14 1923 at his brother James L Maxedons home aged 56 years 4 months and 16 days He was born April 28 1867 in Valeene Indiana and lived in Paoli after his fathers service as county treasurer He worked on the Air Line railroad later becoming an engineer He married Leanlie Brown January 29 1890 and had a daughter Fannie Rutbelia now Mrs W E Crumly of Kansas City Missouri The funeral was at James L Maxedons home and interment at Rock Springs Church concrete floral tributes noted The issue mentions other local families and church assignments.

Maggie Davis born February 28 1850 in Orange County Indiana near Moore s Ridge died August 28 1923 in Paoli aged 73 years 6 months She was the last of a large family known as Aunt Maggie in Paoli where she spent much of her life She lived in Jeffersonville Indianapolis Paoli and French Lick with her niece Mary Moore Later she resided in Paoli and French Lick until three years ago after the death of Armal Moore She returned to this city where she spent her final days She was patient and beloved often saying The Lord s will be done and looking forward to meeting friends Funeral services were conducted by Rev Isaac Morris at Ames Church August 29 with interment in the cemetery Nieces and nephews express thanks to friends and neighbors for kindness during her sickness and death
