Hall's Catarrh Cure Advertisement Declares Reward

An old advertisement promises one hundred dollars reward for any case of catarrh cured only by Hall's Catarrh Cure. It features F. J. Cheney & Co of Toledo and testimonials from financial and banking figures vouching for Cheney's integrity and ability to fulfill obligations. The copy notes internal use and blood system action of the remedy.

Mr M W Foy Sr returns from a 50 day Dixie Country trip last week. Milton Martinez, previously with Miller Bros, was in town Thursday subscribing for The Progress. Dr R G Clark reported after returning from Monroe that he and Dr Cecil Clark performed four operations there. Mr S A Worthen and Mrs Frank Houston traveled north with their husbands for safety. Paper price has risen 14 times since January. The Progress price remains the same, paper smaller for a time, payment in advance.

Threshing Engine Blocked Road Near Junction

A 16 ton threshing engine and an 8 ton threshhr blocked a road near Junction for days, forcing traffic through Barnson's pasture. Quince K. Kimball of Winder owns the engine. George Hanks, mail contractor, details severe disruption and late deliveries. Also notes a political rally in town with 400 attending and planned Circleville appointments.

Robbery Threat Forced Mormon Colony to Flee Juarez

A four-Mexican gang robbed Mormon merchants in Juarez threatening death for $10,000 and taking a brother prisoner. Two robbers seized funds from another resident while the prisoner escaped, prompting a retreat to the hills. General Pershing sent U.S. troops to Colonia Juarez to protect settlers as the raid raised fears of further violence. Henry Bowman’s home was burned.
