Department of the Interior dated September 20 1915 states Joseph H Heaps of Escalante Utah filed for three year proof to establish a homestead claim for lands described as NEM SEM S NEM 40d SEM NW section 17 township 83 S range 2 W Salt Lake Meridian. The hearing before a United States Commissioner at Winder Utah set for November 8 2015. Witnesses listed Edgar Addle William Cheataut Jared R Porter Samuel Spencer. Also an advertisement for the Page Ranch sale near Wenders includes 821 acres with improvements and a city lot on Main Street Panguitch Utah.
