March Weather and Road Blocks Slow Freight Through Snow

Snow and wind grip the region as freight wagons struggle over the divide. Isaac J. Riddle leads attempts to reopen the mountain road while others work on the Escalante Boulder route. Relief Society Annual Day Program Highlights March 17 1916

The event features choir singing, a welcome by Sarah B Cameron, a historical sketch by Sarah Ibson, and performances by Mario Farthingham Byron Orton and Company with a poem by Lucy Pendleton. Prof F E Wilcox leads music. Lydia Levy presents prognostication. Lillie Owens plays piano. Samuel G Lee conducts vocals. crowd awaited at the tabernacle with a 2 PM start. The talk by Martin Foy on State Land Board and Representative Thomas Levy follows, praising fairness and diligence.

Election Ball Honors New Officers At B A C Notes

Friday's election day produced a mixed ticket with winners from both parties. The Independent's mayor led a new administration as the city council planned work on the track Saturday. Miss Lu Nita Watson and Della Corry hosted Juniors, and the B B Club held a party in U S rooms. The basketball team travels to Salt Lake to face Granite then Provo, West Side, and Payson in upcoming games. Mr Kop, the yearbook photographer, is busy capturing portraits for the school.
