Judge John F. Chidester Aiding Utahs Dixie Pioneer Life
Judge John F. Chidester, born February 2 1858 in Spanish Fork, rose from constable to district attorney and judge in Utahs Sixth District. He served in the constitutional convention, helped advance woman suffrage, led missions in the southern States, and endured a sheriff's mistaken arrest during a murder case. He married Mary Nicoll and later Alma Worthen, leaving numerous children and a legacy in Richfield and Boulder communities.

The program at 10 o'clock was a perfect success with everyone taking his part. The hall was decorated and the committee worked hard and deserve credit for their efforts. Mrs C L King Jr has gone to Idaho to visit with her parents and other relatives. Mrs E C Black has been quite sick for the past week and is still weak. Mr Frank Dowdy has been very sick but is a little better now. Haying begins now and grain looks fine though some burned during the long dry spell. Carpenters are finishing the new school. Sunday School remembered Red Cross day with an enrollment of about seventy five to eighty and $14 was collected. Mrs P F Savage and children returned from Delta to visit her mother and relatives. It was warm this week. Haying is about to begin. Do you ever think how many kind things a telephone girl does in a week.
