The Federal Music Project Melody Band directed by Mrs. Hettie Swift gave a concert of Stephen Foster songs at Panama City Grammar School. Mrs James Turner Hosts Miss Moeller Birthday Party

Mrs James Turner entertained Wednesday afternoon for Miss Madelyn Moeller a 1939 Bay County High School graduate. Guests enjoyed flowers in blue and gold, corsages, games and prizes with Eloise Ellis Louise Clark Nell Smith winning top prizes. A salad course and iced drink followed, with assistance from Mrs C H Moeller.

Philathea Class Entertained at First Baptist Church

The May meeting of the Philathea class at First Baptist met Wednesday afternoon at Mrs. Ira A. Hutchison’s home with Mrs. E. A. Barrett presiding. Prayers, devotional, and a vocal solo by Mrs. J. E. Bell marked the program. The class voted to meet on Thursdays during the summer and concluded with a lawn picnic for listed members on Mrs. Hutchison’s front lawn.

Ellington of Corey Field to spend weekend with the Southerlands. Mrs. Drummond, visiting St Andrews, departs to New York on business, plans to move to California after summer.

Worthy Grand Matron of Florida honored at banquet

Donna J. Hainline of Pensacola, Worthy Grand Matron of the Eastern Star of Florida, attended a Dixie Sherman hotel banquet before initiation services and inspection of the local chapter. Guests included Panama City officials, Gulf Chapter members, and visitors from Milwaukee. A postbanquet program in the Masonic hall featured dancing and music by local students.

Eastern Star Service Features Duet and Initiation

McAnulty and John McAnulty sang a duet "Little Sir Echo" as Donna J. Hainine Worthy Grand Matron was escorted to the East by a guard of honor. Vocal numbers by Mrs. Fringer and Mrs. Pomeroy were enjoyed. Evelyn McKnight Masters was Initiated into the Eastern Star. Joyce Grantham of Parker has been dismissed to her home from Lisenby hospital after a stay as a patient.

Sue Hawkins daughter of Col and Mrs M B Hawkins of Old Orchard is a patient at Panama City hospital. Mrs J L Deal and infant son were dismissed to their home from the Panama City hospital. Miss Myrtice Shinholster of Bay Harbor has been dismissed.
