Wednesday Bridge Club Hosts Mrs Blackshear At Beach Drive

Members of the Wednesday Bridge club gathered at Mrs. R. D. Blackshear’s Beach Drive home where azaleas jonquils and peach blossoms decorated the rooms. Visitors joining the rotations included Mrs. E. D. De Witt and Mrs. Harry Fannin. High score honors went to Mrs. Ho T. Sudduth. Refreshments of brick ice cream coffee and homemade cake were served in the late afternoon. The next meeting is set for Wednesday at 2:30 pm with Mrs. Louise LaRoche hosting in Lynn Haven.

Range, Mayor and Mrs. Wilkins, Major and Mrs. Van Egmond, and other Dixie Division officers plan to attend and assist in a mass open-air meeting on Harrison avenue at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.

WAIT FOR LIQUOR VOTE IN SUMTER COUNTY

Sumter county voters awaited today’s official count of yesterday’s liquor referendum to see the wet dry issue. An unofficial tabulation of complete returns showed 610 votes for liquor and 610 votes for continued prohibition.

Mrs Powell recently moved from Noma Florida and is residing with daughter Mrs James People. Mr Powell is a longtime resident, originally from the west, now living on Massalena Avenue.
