Members of the Wednesday Bridge club gathered at Mrs. R. D. Blackshear’s Beach Drive home where azaleas jonquils and peach blossoms decorated the rooms. Visitors joining the rotations included Mrs. E. D. De Witt and Mrs. Harry Fannin. High score honors went to Mrs. Ho T. Sudduth. Refreshments of brick ice cream coffee and homemade cake were served in the late afternoon. The next meeting is set for Wednesday at 2:30 pm with Mrs. Louise LaRoche hosting in Lynn Haven.

Sumter county voters awaited today’s official count of yesterday’s liquor referendum to see the wet dry issue. An unofficial tabulation of complete returns showed 610 votes for liquor and 610 votes for continued prohibition.
The marriage of Mrs Clara Gavin to Mr J M Powell took place Sunday afternoon with County Judge C S Russ officiating. Mrs Powell recently moved from Noma Florida and is residing with daughter Mrs James People. Mr Powell is a longtime resident, originally from the west, now living on Massalena Avenue.
A cow producing four gallons of milk daily requires about 16 to 20 gallons of water to sustain its output.
Parker P T A holds a regular meeting selecting Mrs. Grantham Mrs Albert Fowler and Miss Mable Persival as nominating committee for new year offices. Program included poems skit and readings. Mrs Eudean Bragan won a picture for her homeroom, president Mrs Leah Davis was absent due to illness.
A social event last evening honored A J Pelham on his 67th birthday hosted by daughter Mrs Rena Bee Baldwin. Attendees included Mayor C P Russ Judge C S Russ Dr Allan H Miller and Captain Frank Walter among many others. Refreshments featured chicken sandwiches cake and coffee with games and prizes awarded to Carl Gray and Glen Langford.
Announcement lists Panama City locals who will double for movie stars at the Hollywood premiere sponsored by the Lions Club to be held at the Ritz theatre. Auditions start at 7:30 p m at the Dixie Sherman Hotel tonight to add more participants.
The Order of the Eastern Star held a regular meeting in the chapter room last night. Mrs. James Hentz was welcomed as a new member after an initiation. A social hour followed with coffee and sandwiches. Notable attendees included Mrs. Betty Wells of Florida and many local members and visitors.
Dr and Mrs C F Rabell of Lynn Haven hosted a novel party honoring houseguests Mrs Richard Barr and Mrs Hugh Mitchell of Joliet Illinois. Barr wife of Senator Barr a midwest political figure and former Lieutenant Governor plans to join them soon. Guests attended cocktails and a hush puppy dinner at Matties Tavern with many locals and friends.
