Gulf Coast Council of Registered Nurses began a series of tonsil clinics for indigent children. The first clinic occurred June 14 at Panama City Hospital with five children treated by Dr. J. M. Nixon and Dr. D. M. Adams. council nurses assisted. Benefactors include the American Legion Auxiliary, the Elks Club, and the E.M.B.A. association. Children treated included Shirley Dean Smith, Walter Sanders, Billy Waters, Delores Davis, and Debora Clements.
