Augusta Ga April 401 Old Mr Runner Up Craig Wood Mamaro neck N Y took a putter and set out to murder the his tasic wheeze about being a bridesmaid but never a bride. Wood shot a sensational six under par 66 in the opening round of the 1941 Masters leading Hogan Nelson Little by five strokes. He praised his current form and putting while weathering gusty winds. Nelson struggled late but posted 72 with other contenders like Goggin, Cooper, Serafin, Thomson, Bulla, Snead, Penna, Byrd, Heafner, Dudley and Ryan close behind. Demaret led last year with 77. Wood’s 66 boosted odds to 4 to 1 before the day ended.
