A Wise county posse and citizens search the 8000 acre Morris ranch for a bank robber who held up the First State bank of Chico and fled with 1500. The car was abandoned west of Cundiff after a running gun battle. bullets riddled the getaway vehicle as officers pursued. The bandit, seen with a satchel, eluded capture as night fell. Bloodhounds plans were dropped due to lack of a plane.

Hi Y Constitution To Be Adopted At Next Hi Y Meet

Hi Y club of Pampa High School plans to adopt a constitution at the next meeting. A drafted sample was discussed with no action taken. Joly Fisher of Tulsa led the group by showing the ritual. The opening included the pledge to the flag a song and the Lord s prayer. A club photo was taken for the 1931 Harvester yearbook. Superintendent R B Fisher gave an inspirational talk.

Eight Die In Hale Coal Mine Blast at White Haven

At Hale coal mine near White Haven Cumberland Eng, a violent explosion in the Number 3 North district killed eight miners and endangered up to 85 others. About 200 men were in the Haig pit when the blast struck. rescue parties with special apparatus fought afterdamp to reach survivors and recover the victims while 30 men were hospitalized for gas exposure.

Police investigate the late night grave opening of Mrs. Clydé Felker. Thieves removed stockings from her legs and disturbed the casket, leaving a stolen shovel at the scene. The corpse shows no obvious harm, post mortem exams proceed, and no arrests have been made.

Body Of Taylor Sent To Newcastle

The body of C. H. Bert Taylor a 45 year old carpenter foreman for Phillips Petroleum was slain on a road near LeFors early Wednesday morning. It was sent to Newcastle Pennsylvania yesterday afternoon accompanied by Mr and Mrs J C Alexander. Burial will be in Newcastle. Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian church.
