Endurance plane ends after 122 hours in the air

Bobbie Trout and Edna May Cooper ended an endurance flight after 122 hours and 20 minutes when flight manager Joseph Martin ordered a landing. Woman Injured in Pampa Corner Crash

Miss Jean Voge sustained bruises and severe shock when struck by a sedan at the Francis and Frost corner at noon yesterday. She was taken to Worley hospital where X rays showed no broken bones and she rested comfortably late last night.

Brother admits false stories in theater usher death case

A coroner's jury in Washington heard that Beulah Limerick’s brother Vernon first lied about taking her to a dance on December 31 and later admitted the tale was false. Detective Flaherty testified that Vernon and another youth made untruths at the mother’s request, which Mrs. Limerick denied. The death showed a bullet wound, and police suspect Robert F. Kiwanis Back Lions in Fee Bill Amendment Push

Two Killed in Crash at Grossing Texas

Mr and Mrs Alonea Davenport were killed instantly when their car was struck by a Texas and Pacific passenger train at a grade crossing near Ranger Texas. Davenport had served as fire and police commissioner of Ranger during its rapid 10 year growth from a village of 400 to a city of 40 000. He had recently devoted time to farming on a modern county-area place nearby.

Bandits Hold Up Motorist On Mobeetie Highway

On a Thursday morning near Pampa Texas F Lord stopped to fix a flat when three men in a Ford sedan halted and one held a pistol while another searched him. They took $5.95 and left. a returned watch prompted them to joke that they could not eat it. A gunny sack over the rear plate blocked the vehicle’s number.

Greenwood proprietor J. J. Greenwood announced at the State theater that he will employ a number of women to sell tickets. Applicants must be worthy and provide at least one recommendation. Gambling in Juarez will open casino on Saturday

El Paso, Texas, Jan 9. After a suspension since early 1929, gambling will resume in Juarez at the old Tivoli resort. The reopened venue will be Casino Turista Internationale, under concession by Manuel Llantarada, a former senate candidate and Sonora landowner. He was expected to arrive from Los Angeles today.

Three Die As Plane Crashes At Miami Air Meet

In Miami on January 9 a non entrant air plane collapsed during a public meet, killing pilot James W. Riddle and passengers Bob Smalley and Dr. Harry A. Ware. Dr. A. J. Smalley suffered multiple injuries. The crash occurred near the 15 mile race course as spectators watched.

Plub Girls Awarded at Gray County Exhibits

Twenty seven awards for 4-H club girls entries were announced by Miss Myrtle Miner. Articles on display at city hall in connection with the Gray County poultry show. Judges included Miss Margie Lyon. Twenty Workmen Trapped by Cave-In at Camp Mitchell

Twenty workmen were trapped by a cave-in at the east entrance of the Hetch Hetchy coast range tunnel at Camp Mitchell. Rescue workers forced an air pipe through the slide and reported the imprisoned men probably would be released with no injuries and sufficient air.

Storm halts pair on payload flight to Paris from Bermuda

In Hamilton Bermuda a strong southwest wind and heavy showers blocked Mrs Beryl Hart and Lt Wilam MacLaren from departing on leg two of a payload flight to Paris. They arrived aboard the Tradewind after six hours and 55 minutes flight from Norfolk Virginia.
