Oklahoma City OK Jan 2000 Five oil companies attacking proration presented their case before a three judge panel to block the state corporation commission from enforcing proration orders. The commission’s defense and further testimony were scheduled for tomorrow as company officers testified potential outlets exist for their wells.
Children’s shoes are the most needed items at the city hall clothing room run by the Welfare board under Mrs. W H Davis. Men’s clothing is also in demand while women’s attire is less sought. A large turkey fed 64 relatives over four days during a Tulsa holiday reunion. Mrs. T. P. Johnston, a high school registrar, was among the diners. The meat was served gradually across the four days and remained turkey each day.
Three unmasked bandits over powered A Nix attendant at 843 W Foster last night and took 10 dollars from the cash register. They fled after slashing Nix and battering him with a pistol as two men entered with guns while a third watched rear. Police scoured the area but made no arrest by early this morning.
Paul Hill was elected president at a Kiwanis luncheon at Schneider hotel. He praised retiring president John F. Studer and outlined 1931 committees across agriculture, attendance, membership, finance, interclub relations, Kiwanis education, publicity, and vocations. McAllister sisters performed. teams will vote on a banquet for winners.

A fire started by a cleaning tub whirled by two workers in greasy unionalls at a deluxe shop. Sparks from friction ignited the tub as cleaners worked at 4 PM yesterday afternoon. Fire was extinguished in five minutes with chemicals. no injuries or losses to the cleaners. onlookers hampered firefighters, assistant chief Fussell nearby controlling the crowd.
Pampa post office last quarter ending December 31 posted receipts of 18 087 22 and annual receipts of 61 454 93 as stated by postmaster William A Crawford. Money orders and postal savings are not included. The figures were requested via telegram from Congressman Marvin Jones yesterday.
District Attorney Raymond Allred recounted a prison interview in which a Chicago inmate claimed he fled the Windy City and was involved in bootlegging. Pampa high school principal B. I. Sone announced enrollment for the second semester will run January 12 through 16. Students should file schedules to be ready for classes on January 19 as the first semester ends January 16.
