Burglars exploited weather to enter United Dry Goods on North Cuyter Street Sunday night, stealing $200 in cash after prying a front door lock with an iron bar. Manager F M Hood discovered the loss Monday morning, with doors swollen by rain aiding the entry. a second robbery at Cretney Drug Store is not connected.
Two fugitives identified as Luke Trammel and Forest Gibson escaped from a Texas prison farm eleven days earlier after shooting a guard. They abducted a secondyear-old farm boy near Buck Creek, Oklahoma, released him unharmed at Reed, then fled in a stolen car toward Mangum. Federal agents weighed Lindbergh law charges as they joined the chase. Community sheriff Anderson and Sheriff Glahaugh warned they were prepared to shoot it out with the armed fugitives.
Pam pa residents plan daylight events at the municipal pool with a water carnival from 2 to 4 pm and diving contests for 12 to 18 year olds and adults. Fresh water and wall cleaning are planned amid a near sanitary pool, while nearby Canadian and Borger prepare for their own Fourth celebrations.

Nomination and election of officers to lead the fight are the first concern with balloting starting today and a report due Thursday night. Delegates at the seventy fourth annual convention denounced educational restrictions as dictatorial censorship and urged solidarity and militancy in the profession.
Ernest O. Thompson chairman of the Texas railroad commission announced that the next statewide oil production and gas conservation hearing will be held July 18. The Texas portion of the Rhodesa field issues will head the docket as a priority.
Three men faced drunken driving charges in Gray county jail after a car crash three miles east of room last midnight injuring Mrs. Roy Carilton of Shamrock. Richard Jennings of Oklahoma City drove the car, Roscoe Huff and William Huff of Plymouth Illinois were arrested. Mrs Carilton and her husband traveled with three children Imogeny 11 Jack seven Don two, and Mrs J C Roberts. Mrs Carilton injured and treated at Groom hospital.
The Rulierd Commission in Austin on June 30 authorized Texas daily natural gas production for next month at 1,478,533,000 cubic feet, up 3,449,000 from June. Sour gas up over 100,000,000 feet daily, sweet gas slightly down. Details list East Panhandle sweet gas 121,591,000 vs 113,504,000. West Panhandle sweet gas 521,270,000 vs 514,048,000.
