Money Missing From Residence in Holly
The Ralph Busse family in Holly 1923 reported $25 in small bills and coins missing from a children s bedroom after returning from a ball game Friday night. Police say entry was gained through a door from the open garage and suspect a child who might have known about the money. The incident is under investigation.

Criminal Justice Grant Awarded to Panhandle Region
The Austin Panhandle Regional Planning Commission Amarillo was among 26 councils to receive fiscal 1973 criminal justice planning grants totaling 793,718 dollars. The Panhandle grant of 29,300 dollars funds action projects and updates to the five year plan for 25 counties. Outlook Brightens for 1972 Oil Drilling Surpassing 1971
Houston AP reports Warren L. Baker of the International Association of Drilling Contractors says 1972 will exceed 1971 by a substantial margin as rigs in operation rise. The first five months averaged 1,050 rotary rigs, up 18 percent from 1971, with early June showing an upward trend. Baker notes few weeks under 1,080 rigs and compares 1972 to 1971's lower months, adding nine of the last 20 months exceed last year’s rig activity. He cites increased well completions and drilling footage, with 9,222 new wells drilled in the first four months, nearly nine percent above 1971 and close to 1970 levels.
