Pampa Plans Band Visits to Borger and Clarendon
Pampa will send bands to Borger and Clarendon as both cities host their biggest festivals on July 4. Efforts by BCD goodwill committee chairmen Guy McTaggart and Al Fred Gilliland urge Pampans to attend and support the celebrations. Windshield stickers may be secured at the BCD office in the city hall. Clarendon sent a hand to Pampa during its celebration and Borger had a large delegation attend.

Texas Woman And Son Slain With Axe At Farm Home
Johnson City Texas June 28 Mrs Ernest Herwig 268 and her nine year old son were found slain at their farm home ten miles southeast of Johnson City. Mrs Herwig was killed with an axe and the boy's head crushed. Husband rushed to notify officers as daughters tended the garden. Police and sheriffs officials investigated and sought aid from Austin in the case.

Solon Walks Out Over Negro Invoked Prayer at Convention
South Carolina Senator Ellison D. Smith walked out of the Democratic national convention after a Negro offered the invocation.
