Pool drains and scrubs as city plans new pools
Pampa's municipal swimming pool was drained and scrubbed overnight. Eight men scrubbed walls and floor as water escaped. Refilling and heating started at midnight. Mitchell Case Goes to Federal Jury in Tax Fraud Trial
New York June 21 A federal court jury received the case of Charles B. Mitchell once a banking power charged with defrauding the government of more than 859000 in income taxes. The judge summed up the evidence and instructed the 12 jurors they may convict on one or both counts or acquit on all. The jurors include engineers, a contractor, an architect and a publicity man. If convicted, Mitchell faces up to ten years in prison and a 20000 fine.

First Load Of 1933 Wheat Is Sold In Pampa
A local grain dealer reported the first load of 1933 wheat brought to Great West Mill and Elevator by W. G. Kinzer. The 5123 bushel sample tested 58 pounds per bushel and sold for 57 cents. Harvest on Kinzer farm ten miles north covered 160 acres with 8 to 10 bushels per acre. yield may hold. Wheat was slightly green and could have tested 60 pounds if harvested later.

Wheat harvest starts in the upper Panhandle with scattered gains. Amarillo received its first load today harvested by L. L. Burnett 12 miles southeast of Amarillo, selling at six cents a bushel plus a six dollar premium. Burnett yielded 10 bushels per acre, Gray county 16, Randall county 4.

Fire Destroys Huge Elevator in Frederick OK
A large Northwestern Elevator feed mill and adjacent structures burned in Frederick Oklahoma early today. Loss estimated at $50,000, with insurance partly covering the fire. About 32,000 bushels of wheat were destroyed. The grain elevator belonged to Henneman Grain and Feed Co. of Amarillo, Texas. J. T. Dawes of LeFors visited Pampa last night.
