1700 Automobiles Tested First Day Of Inspection
Slightly more than 1700 automobiles passed through inspection lanes yesterday the first of three and a half days of checks on brakes lights and steering. Sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce Pampa is the first West Texas city to be visited. About one car in ten would fail the required distance tests.

Thousands of game fish washed away when a water spout struck near Canadian Texas washing two large dams and subordinate structures on the Hoover Stradey lake system. Bass up to ten pounds were found on prairies and some fish washed into the Washita river as waters receded. The Iske system on H B Hoover ranch lies 24 miles southeast of Canadian.

At White Deer on June 20, two refrigerator cars of a Santa Fe freight derailed after the engineer used the brake to avoid a crossing collision.
