In Durant Oklahoma a political rally turned deadly when Frank Farmer 29 a college football captain and Roscoe Garner a farmer were killed and Tad Smith wounded. Plaster storekeeper Charley Fisher surrendered after the shootout at Fisher's store. Authorities say Garner shot first then Smith. the shooter fired again wounding Smith before escaping.

Regiments of troops form this week led by Roger McConnell in artillery and Frank Keim in infantry to boost adult participation and recruitment.
