William Inge 60, famed American playwright of Come Back Little Sheba and Picnic, committed suicide by inhaling automobile exhaust in his Hollywood home garage. Oklahoma youth dies in wreck near Perryton
Eldon Wayne Rakestraw of Fargo Oklahoma, 16, died after a one car crash on U S 83 south of Perryton. Terri Jane Clements, 16, of Canadian was critically injured with a fractured skull and was moved to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo after being trapped 45 minutes. The crash occurred at 3:40 a.m. and the victim died during treatment at Ochiltree General Hospital.
