Pampa leaders to attend state Pythian conventions
Mrs. Bernice Keen will be installed as grand chief of the Texas Pythian Sisters at the state convention and Pampa Lodge 480, Knights of Pythias, plus Pythian Temple No. 41, will send a delegation. The event runs June 1 to 14 with installations, banquets, and a marching staff from Pampa Temple. Wilson & Howell elected chancellor commander of Pampa Lodge 440 with a slate of officers to be installed July 1.

Woman Injured By Car as Grandson Sets Vehicle in Motion
A Pampa woman Dorothy Howell Oaks, 48, is in serious condition in an Amarillo hospital after a car, set in motion by her two year old grandson, pinned her to a brick wall at a drive in. She is treated for arm leg and pelvic injuries.

Swimming Pool Trouble In Pampa Park

Lake Meredith visitation climbs with warm May turnout
The National Park Service reports May visitation at Lake Meredith reached 243,275 with 69,507 cars and 11,340 boats. Swimmers numbered 5,950 and 29,022 campers. 1972 year-to-date total rises to 605,788.
