City council adopts a new municipal salary schedule. C H Fisher resigns as city secretary, to serve until July 1 at 225 dollars monthly. John Andrews named city marshal at 166 monthly with pound fees. policemen at 125. water superintendent 200 with two assistants at 125 each. Mayors and city attorney salaries not disclosed. plan previously adopted.
Tampa police say B P Levins confessed to involvement in the Merrill family killings and admitted aiding in six deaths. He implicated Lonard Thompson, arrested with him in the Merrill case, and Thompson is charged with clubbing the three Merrill children.
T. W. Aratton is jailed on a liquor transport charge after officers say he was caught delivering bottled beer to a local hotel last evening. The bottles were wrapped to prevent clinking and transported from Roxana via six back of a Bert roadster with a back-sweat hinge mechanism.
Clarence Chamberlin and Charles Levine landed the Columbia at Templehof airfield Berlin completing their interrupted flight from Roosevelt Field New York They flew from Oktbus near Berlin and were welcomed by thousands The pair were declared honorary citizens of Katlhausen and hosted by Ambassador Schurman as a gesture of goodwill.
L Legler and Scott Barcus visited Groom to inspect pedigreed Poland-China pigs. The Rotary club plans to cooperate with local boys to raise the pure-bred pigs and will propose at the next meeting that the club purchase some pigs from the Groom owner at a reasonable price.

Soviet minister to Poland M. Wolkoff was shot by a young nationalist and died after being taken to a Warsaw hospital. The assailant has been arrested.
