In Dallas on June 6, R B Creager Republican National Committee member for Texas was drafted as a Democratic candidate for governor by Albert Sidney Johnson secretary of the state Democratic executive committee. The petition was signed by 29 people, surpassing the legal requirement, and Creager’s name appeared on the ticket ahead of the filing deadline.
Justice of the Peace C B Cary announced his candidacy for county judge after Ivy E Duncan would not seek re election. Cary withdrew from re election as justice of the peace while stressing his long interest in county affairs and pledging a progressive, business minded administration. Local social notes mention visitors from Oklahoma and Texas.

Civilians and officers hunted two African Americans who approached elders at a farmhouse four miles north of Bells, four miles east of Sherman in Wilson County. A 15 year old girl was in the group. children fled and hid inside. The suspects, described as not tramps, were said to have tried to force entry.
Olta Schick leads a plan to form a Little Symphony Orchestra in Pampa for concert and radio use. Prof Schick seeks advanced players, especially violins and reed instruments, with William Jessie as conductor and librarian aiding the effort. Four buildings were dynamited in Lot Hair Kentucky causing a fire that destroyed twenty homes and damaged the Stanlidard Oil storage plot. About 100 people were left homeless as sparks from a smokestack ignited oil tanks. The plant held eight large tanks containing roughly 60,000 gallons of gasoline, 20,900 gallons of kerosene, and 40,000 gallons of engine oil.
A Dallas convict, William Pruitt, is to die in the electric chair in Huntsville tomorrow for the murder of William Mann, a boy. Governor Dan Moody refused clemency after the pardons board recommended a 40 day reprieve.
In Chickasha Oklahoma on June 5 a murder warrant was issued for Jud Brown 33 after authorities say a mob killed Henry Argo a Black man who attacked a woman. Brown was arrested at Clarkey s and a second arrest is expected as federal agents pursue Walee Lee for property destruction tied to a riot and National Guard truck burn.
Lennard L. Wiegman, 25, perishes from burns after an explosion in his bathroom at 448 North Starkweather. His wife, employed at Montgomery Ward, is seriously injured but not yet told of the death. The blast occurred when a hot water heater ignited gasoline fumes. neighbors moved the burning container from the room. Funeral arrangements are set in Claude, with services planned pending time.
Washington June 5 Senatorial inquiry reveals Bishop Jamies Cannon Jr refused further testimony and exited the senate lobby committee session. The panel said it will not subpoena or begin contempt proceedings and will reconvene next Wednesday. Cannon mocked the proceedings as he departed, asserting he had answered all questions to his satisfaction.
