Larry Hollis reports Hill Ragsdale TEC manager says YES program with Kiwanis clubs and TEC may place 150 to 200 youths in jobs this summer with 300 to 400 applications expected and many more employed outside the program. Miami Sets Cow-Calling Contest Nightline
Miami hosts the 24th Annual National Cow-Calling Contest opening tonight at 8 at Miami High School. The Frontier Follies lead the schedule with events continuing tomorrow including a fly-in at 8 and an old-timers reunion at 9 at the community center. Roberts County Park hosts afternoon activities with a noon barbecue, cow-calling finals to follow, beauty contest finals at 2, and a team roping finale at 3 in the rodeo arena.

Natl Monument Tours Start Tomorrow Near Lake Meredith
Aiibates National Monument near Lake Meredith will offer temporary daily tours in June from 9 30 a.m. to 7 p.m. with last tour at 6 p.m. Superintendent James M. Thomson says tours are experimental to mark the National Parks Centennial. Road to site is a 3 mile dirt drive with protruding rocks and tours include a 1.2 mile quarry hike about an hour long. Not recommended for heart or emphysema patients.

Texas Hopeful for Federal Social Service Funds

Preston Smith said Texas may receive about 125 million dollars in federal social service funds including for 1972, after encouraging talks with federal officials about qualifying for funds aiding orphans, mentally retarded, youth, elderly and welfare clients.
