Space Center Houston AP reports Skylab crew Charles Conrad Jr Joseph Kerwin and Paul Weitz plan a three day leisure period on their 28 day mission with experiments suspended and a late afternoon shower in weightlessness. they expect to clean up the station, take photos, read and listen to music and enjoy zero gravity games while mission control troubleshoots a power shortage.

Iowa Beef Processors Inc announced plans to locate a multi million dollar beef plant near Amarillo after an exhaustive Panhandle area search. The 625000 square foot facility on 490 acres east of Amarillo near FM 1912 will cost about 25 million dollars and employ 1500 people with a 15 million dollar payroll. Construction starts in six weeks, completion expected in 18 to 24 months.
