Gray County commissioners awarded a 2.6 mile county road project off Texas Highway 273 north of McLean to T & G Construction Co., Pampa, at 14.87 per unit, the lowest of six bids. Other bidders included Ivan Dement Amarillo 14670.98 Fuller and Fraser Amarillo 14772.75 Gilvin Terrell Inc Amarillo 15145.50 Baker Neel and Haner Borger 16733.22 Copper and Woodruff Amarillo 16070.458. The work covers excavation and culverts with Wayland Merriman as consultant engineer and Ray Wilson Urb as county auditor. Brison of West Texas Equipment proposed a safety barbecue for the commissioners and staff at 7 p.m. June 17 at the county barn in Recreation Park. The court briefly discussed hospital expansion and weed control near Perry LeForg Field as the day concluded.
