Early Morning Wedding in Denver

Miss Henrietta Bowen wed Mr Claude Standish Downing in a morning ceremony at St John’s cathedral. Dean Hart officiated as the bride, escorted by her brother Ewing Bowen, wore silver gray broadcloth, and carried bride roses. After a breakfast at 639 East Seventeenth Avenue the couple left for San Francisco.

Red Cross Entertainment at Nortree Hall Friday

A charity program next Friday at Nortree Hall benefits the Red Cross Society. Directed by Mrs Genevieve H Wright the first half features jubilee and plantation songs with specialties by local talent. Proceeds aid the Red Cross.

San Mateo County Petition Denied On Road Abandonment

The District Attorney and Board of Supervisors petition to abandon the old May field and Searsville road was heard before the San Mateo Board, Judge Fitzpatrick argued the need for inter county action. San Mateo county was denied unanimously. Stanford representatives contended the road had been vacated and public use ceased, and the board ruled against reopening the road. A pending school district petition for Stanford University grounds was continued at Mrs. Stanford's counsel request. Mercury report notes.
