Personal and Social notes from a distant port town
The item records social moves and brief notices from residents and visitors. Mentions include Mrs White and Captain 4, a winter stay at Grave Hall, Mrs T DeVous leaving for New York with relatives, the Preston Miles Company trade activity, and local church and civic affairs. It notes a water supply drive, a delivery of groves and fruit crops, and various trips to Philadelphia, Boston, and Welaks. It references a Baptist society service and a state missions secretary visiting. A weather mention hints at a dry spell affecting crops and Seville oranges pricing.
