A Luray Elementary student was hit by a van as school ended and parents arrived. Lt Wayne Petefish said the boy darted across traffic and was taken to a hospital with injuries not yet deemed life threatening. Wes Shifflett noted injuries did not appear life threatening at scene.

Indicted in Luray case of car wash break ins
Two men from Luray and Stanley were indicted by the Page County Grand Jury on multiple counts of breaking and entering destruction of property and petit or grand larceny for break ins at car washes in Luray and Stanley during late July and early August. Wallace and Danley face oct. 19 court dates with bonds set at 15000 and 1700 respectively. A separate unlawful wounding case against Jason Barbee, 25, of Luray, arose from an Aug. 6 incident with a bite during a home altercation. He is to appear Oct. 25 for disposition or trial.

The 42nd annual Heritage Festival in Luray kicks off Saturday during Columbus Day weekend.
