Oxford residents mourn the death of Charles Hilborn longtime Oxford merchant who spent his last years in Delaware Ohio after a prolonged illness. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, remained unconscious for sixty hours, and died last week. Funeral services were held at the Delaware Methodist church with burial in Nevada Ohio. Iowa City Man Gored by Bull Dies of Injuries
Phillip Lee Rogers 29 of near Iowa City died at Mercy hospital after a bull gored him during morning chores three miles northeast of the city. He was found in a pool of blood by his brother about an hour later. Survived by wife Lucile, 7 year old daughter, Donald 3, two sisters Madeline Gibson and Mrs George Abbott, and three brothers Norman Lloyd and Glenn.

Clearman couple join Iowa farm tour to Yellowstone Park

Health contestants to be picked in Johnson County
Johnson County health champion boy and girl will be chosen this week by Dr J D Boyd and staff from two examinations already conducted. Final winners announced Friday evening. Six medals awarded to six top improvers since first and last tests. The champion will go to the Iowa State Fair to represent Johnson County in the State Health Contest. A carnival with three sides and seven to eight other concessions will be part of the club show across the road from the Club Show Grounds. The kiddies may ride a Merry-go-round and Ferris Wheel. The show is free thanks to cooperation from local business leaders, farmers, Farm Bureau and other groups.

Iowa County Road Plan Approved by Highway Board
The Iowa state highway commission approved the county road program from the Iowa county board of supervisors. It authorizes three trunk line projects for the year led by Blairstown road from Marengo to the Benton county line at 4.8 miles with an 11500 cost. The other two projects are County Road A in Fillmore township from Parnell east three miles at 12000 and County Road M in English township two miles northwest toward Millersburg at 14000.

John Hardy Receives 50 Year Jewel From Odd Fellows
