Mr A Watson near the river tried a new corn experiment on less than an acre. He cultivated heavily, then planted without thinning and gathered 120 barrels of corn from the plot. Baker died suddenly at his home six miles east of here after cramps. morphine was administered and he succumbed before a doctor arrived.
