The body of Samuel E. Morss editor of the Indianapolis Sentinel arrived by train and was taken to Lindenwood Cemetery in Forte for burial. Former Mayor Taggert Mayor C A Bookwalter and many prominent citizens and newspaper men accompanied the funeral party. Brief services were held at the grave.
In Marion Illinois on October 25 a child of Marion Borum at Crab Orchard burned to death after wandering into a fire while parents were away from the home.
A special train carried about 200 yellow fever refugees from San Antonio through Denison on Saturday afternoon. The evacuees were residents of St. Louis Chicago and other eastern cities seeking relocation.
Cleveland October 26 Judge Wing sentenced Albert W. Deibel former paying teller of City National Bank of Canton to five years hard labor in the state penitentiary for embezzling 22000 dollars from the bank's funds.
