Elmer Williams Shot by Officers in Raid Near Oxford

Federal and county officers raided an illicit distilling operation eight miles east of Oxford on Saturday afternoon. Elmer Williams, about 28, was shot and killed after resisting arrest. Carl Denton Ernest Thweatt and Curtis Wells were arrested and jailed. The trio bonded out later that Monday. Williams funeral held at Yellow Leaf church. Investigations announced by relatives and lawyers.
