Stanley Burt Dies at College Hill After Long Illness
Stanley Burt of Lafayette County died September 27 at his College Hill home after years of declining health. He leaves a wife two sons two daughters and a sister Mrs S R Whitten of Jackson Mississippi. Burial was at the Clear Creek church family burying ground with Masonic honors and services by Rev W S Hoercis and Dr Heddleston.

A R F Gault Dies at 78 in Delay Mississippi
A R F Gault, 78, died at his Delay home after a brief illness and a stroke three days prior. Interment was at Liberty cemetery with family and friends attending. A Confederate veteran, he came to Lafayette County as a youth, married Miss Goforth, and left six children in the county except one daughter in Union County.

Ivy Guilty in Valhoun County Murder Case Amid Broad Attention
Guilty verdict returned for Ivy in the murder of Love-agwell near Pittsboro Mississippi. Trial drew large crowds, with 12 jurors and prominent lawyers from Water Valley and Oxford presenting the defense and prosecution. Ivy sentenced to hang on November 17, 1919, but an appeal to the Mississippi Supreme Court stayed the execution.
