Report from W house Chicago notes Marshal Pleisd, a dry goods prince, donated 1.9 million dollars to the Columbian memorial museum with conditions including 500,000 cash for the endowment and 1,000,000 of exposition stock transferred to museum trustees. George M. Pullman has added 1,100,000. directors expect remaining funds to flow in days.

Col C F Polk Dies After Long Civil War Career
Coarmytm Oct 17 Colonel C F Polk died at age four score years in Columbia Team. He was born to Exoklel Polk in Virginia and was linked to President James K Polk by family ties. He lived in Bolivar Tennessee and married Ellen Fitshegh of Virginia. He later resided with Capt J Nyneman after losing most of his fortune in the war. Interment will be at Henry Cemetery tomorrow evening with services at Capt D J Hyneman’s home conducted by Rev Hubert Young.
