Mark Merrill Alken, a renowned early settler of Peeris Street Teoma DL, died at dawn. Known as Uncle Mark he never married and tended to his apartment for decades. He was born in New Hampshire and worked in New York with Horace Greeley, later famed as a philanthropist and civic figure.
