In Vicksburg, Fanny Matthin Well aged 11 died after a pistol discharged in her mother's house as her uncle Edward prepared to leave the weapon for protection. The shot struck her heart and she died soon after. The mother and brother Edward are greatly distressed, with many expressions of sympathy. The girl was buried at her aunt’s home.
A man accused of murder was lynched last night at Sauecler, twelve miles from McHenry Mise, near the Gault and Ship Inland railroad. The event followed an earlier report of his arrest and abduction by masked men.
