A $500 reward is posted for the arrest and conviction of J. T. Broadus killers in Jackson County last October. Two assailants fired on Broadus and his wife as they walked near their home. Broadus died in the yard. The crime shocked the community and prompted a citizen-led reward.
Attorney General holds that the state cannot accept its own bonds from state depositories. The ruling casts doubt on legality and invites statewide inquiry. The AG will coordinate with the state treasurer on bond handling and replacement where banks are rejected.
In Biloxi W Rose a socialist city council member held at Harrison county jail to pay street tax. A lower court ruling upheld a judgment against him with fines and costs, and others, including Orr the “Mad Potter,” face jail for similar tax issues. Potter writes to the Governor seeking release.
More than half the oil mills in Mississippi have closed for the season due to unprecedented price drops for refined products. Cotton seed quotes run around 26 dollars per ton f. o. b at stations, 25 at mills, with profits from crushing seed and meal prospects shrinking. Several mills, including Natchez Fayette Harrison and Gulfport, did not operate this season citing seed shortages. Farmers may shift to selling peanuts as oil mill demand fades. Mississippi expects 1.254 to 1.5 million acres in peanuts this year.
The Mississippi court reexamines the 1910 election to establish Wal thall County. Commissioners sent two reports after a recount showed the county creation failed. One contractor asserts tampering. the third reports ballots may have been altered since prior handling.

Albert T. Patrick, serving a life term for the Rice murder, will not appear in person when his case is taken up on March 15. The court of appeals denied his request to be present, saying it would set a bad precedent. He will be represented by counsel. Patrick had previously argued his case in court.

Anderson thanked the judge saying Robbery is robbery and there's another.
Rene Simon and Roland G Garros piloted nanoplanes in Mexico City to drop dummy orange bombs at 50 to 60 mph. Four trials were conducted with a battleship deck diagram outlined on the ground. All drops landed within markings and three struck the magazine area.
In Jackson Kentucky a jail breakout occurred when Asbury Spicer a Hargis clan member led three other inmates in a display of pistols. New York Representative Martin W. Littleton published Charles F Murphy's reply to his Albany senatorial inquiry. Murphy, who initially refused to make the response public, hinted Littleton should take responsibility for the publication. The letter reads a brief acknowledgment from Murphy to Littleton dated the 21st.
