Guaranty Bank and Company bought two store buildings on Depot Street in Oxford Tuesday. Porter Hardware and P. B. Farr properties change hands as the bank plans remodeling, fireproof vault, and modern fixtures. New bank facilities will include space to exhibit farm produce.
On March 1 the firm sold its fur business stake to Sam Friedman. The Caldwell operated company, previously known as the Style of the Firm, becomes the Oxford Tyre Company reflecting the ownership change.

The Board of Supervisors adjourned Tuesday after a two day session. They plan to print the proceedings at the April meeting, and are expected to accept G. W. Price’s Eagle proposal to publish for ten dollars per month.

In Geneva March 7 the German press warned of a possible Japanese invasion in Siberia and predicted intervention to halt Siberia rail traffic. Berlin papers reported President Wilson was considering the issue and Japan might move to prevent supplies reaching Vladivostok from German hands.

In Wyandotte County District Court Kansas City a murder case jury that included a woman, Mrs. A. T. Keeley, returned a verdict freeing the accused. Alexander Weinberg faced D. F Dodson in a self defense case.

Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Boyett left this morning for Durant with the body of their one and a half month old son who died Wednesday night after a measles illness. Friends extend sympathy to the grief stricken parents.

Health conditions improve in U.S. training camps with a weekly report showing 164 deaths for the week ending March 1. Pneumonia declines across National and Army Guard camps as surgeons release the figures.
Spud Wortham is jailed after Coleman Thacker accuses him of ambush and beating. Thacker needed Dr Culley to treat a head wound. Wortham says Thacker threatened him with a knife. Mayor Smith will hear the case tomorrow to determine the facts.
Attorney Lee M Russell announces a forty day absence from Oxford with biweekly returns. In charge during absence is Clifford Davis a young law student who will handle legal business and other matters and guarantee proper attention to entrusted matters.
