Hu Crump Anderson, Speaker of the Tennessee Senate, died after a 24 hour illness from uremic poisoning. Born February 3 1835 in McNairy County, he served as Jackson city attorney, mayor, and thrice in the Tennessee legislature. He died at the Marwell House after a rash of rheumatic troubles and indigestion.
