Platte City Missouri Feb 75 William Foley a 26 year old Clay county farmer was acquitted of murdering his mother at their home near Liberty Missouri in 1597. He remains charged with killing his sister but likely will not be tried. His first trial ended with a hung jury and a second with a conviction and death sentence later overturned on appeal. Foley has faced several prison escapes from lynching.
In a Paris chamber meeting on a February afternoon, deputies faced arrest as two members, Derowiede and Habert, and others protested the presidency. A crowd hurled cries as security questioned the deputies and removed them to the barracks. Police moved to quarantine the uprising, while ministers debated prosecuting or deferring actions.
